Job Description

Responsible for completion of all projects is a safe and timely manner, utilizing the highest quality of workmanship, and the Best in Class procedures.  The Crew Foreman provides the overall administration and management of personnel, materials, and sub-contractors on the construction site, team leader, Crew Foreman carries forth the instructions.

Read and obey safety rules maintain status as OSHA competent person.
Has a First Aid Certification and able to articulate the relevant safety regulations for the work being performed.
Obey with the company’s safety rules/policies and OSHA regulations including hazardous communication, fall protection plan, confined space, and any other project or site specific safety requirements of the job.
Model safe work practices, including wearing of personal protective devices including safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and potential use of safety equipment including steel toed shoes, and harnesses.
Oversee crew to ensure correct methods of construction are employed and strict adherence to safety rules and requirements.
Take responsibility for correcting any unsafe working conditions take action and correct.
Report to the project manager any safety violations by any crew members.
Be able to adapt to change is the workplace.
Maintain a secure and clean jobsite, maintaining a clutter free appearance.
Plan for equipment, material, and personnel acquisition needs as far in advance as possible, with the project manager.  Submit notes to the project manager for anticipated needs.
Determine qualifications of the new hires advise the project manager of training needs. Line up new hires with a mentor for one on one training.  Keep written documents as to the observations and progress.  Submit notes to the project manager for employee file.
Attend all project related meetings and turn in all notes and documents for file weekly.
Create and complete a daily job progress log that also includes any subcontractor work on the project and submit to the project manager.
Promote team work with the crews and recommend crew members for recognition and /or incentives for exemplary work.
Always present yourself in a professional company approved appearance and in a verbally manner that enhances the reputations of the company.
Help promote King Construction and Overhead Door Co Inc. in the community as a progressive and safety conscious builder.
Maintain a positive rapport with the owner, architect, engineer, sub-contractor and any guest of the site.  Negativity is not allowed.
Participate in pre job meetings and add constructive in put when called upon.
Utilize the available time to organize and complete work within the given deadlines.
Always anticipate the job needs and plan the next step to prepare employees for the task ahead.
Provide assistance to craft workers, the crew and others.
Know what to do when and if OSHA/Insurance inspector comes on site.
Know what to say or not to say in the event of a job crisis on site.

When arriving at work and be ready to begin work immediately.
Make sure you are setting an example for others to follow.
Must have the ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.
Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
Be dependable, trustworthy, and fair.
Create and complete a daily job progress log that also includes any subcontractor work on the project and submit to the project manager.
Be a problem solver to help find solutions for or to deal with work related problems constructively using kind spoken words and dialog.
Perform work accurately and thoroughly.
Develop a lead person to be in charge when you are absent from the site and always notify the lead person before leaving the site.
Ensure the owner or delivery services can contact you during non-business hours in case of an emergency or other urgent need.
Get along well with a variety of personalities and individuals.
Communicate effectively with others using kind spoken words.
Follow company procedures when making critical decisions.
Pay attention to details.
Focus on the job or goal until obtainment of the desired result.
Truthful and credible at all times.
Ability to make decisions and take action to solve a problem or reach a goal while working with the crew, delegate rolls to crewmembers.
Ability to get along with a variety of personalities and speak using kind words and promoting a kind dialog.
Ability to formulate a sound decision using the available information including suggestions from his crew.
Submit all the required paperwork in a timely manner including; timecards, material receipts, accident reports, daily reports, equipment maintenance, work orders, and purchase orders.
