Job Description

Perform tasks involving physical labor at all types of construction projects.  May operate hand tools and power tools of most all types: tampers, air hammers, measuring equipment, and a variety of other tools and equipment.  May clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set forms and braces, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble, and debris.  Will assist others and may assist craft workers.

Obey with the company’s safety rules/policies and OSHA regulations including hazardous communication, fall protection plan, confined space, and any other project or site specific safety requirements of the job.

Demolish buildings, concrete, fixtures and salvage useful materials.
Sand, polish, scrape, grind surfaces using abrasive tools, power tools, or machines.
Mix ingredients to create compounds.
Shovel cement and other materials, mix, pour, and spread concrete.
Mop, brush, or spread paints, cleaning solutions, compounds.
Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate hazards.
Dig ditches, trenches, backfill, compact, level, earth grades using all the hand tools including,
shovels, picks, rakes, and tampers.
Position, join, align, seal, all kinds of structural components, such as forms, beams, gerts, purlins, materials, insolation, frames, wall sections, pipes, on the ground, walls and overhead.
Measure, mark, record, distances to layout areas where work is to be performed.
Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, tools, to distribute them to the appropriate locations according to project, plans, and specifications.
Build and positon forms for concrete, dismantle after use, with knowledge of tools required to do so.
Erect and dismantle scaffolding, braces, ramps, and other temporary structures.
Smooth freshly poured concrete using floats, trowels, screeds, or powered cement finishing tools.
Operate jack hammers, hammer drills, and other cement related tools.
Tend to machines that pump, grout, sand, plaster, and spray to floors, walls, ceilings and roofs.
Spray materials such as water, sand, steam, vinyl, paint, and clean, coat, and seal surfaces.
Apply caulking compounds by hand or with caulking powered and non-powered guns.
Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions at all times.
Ability to utilize the available time to organize and complete work within given deadlines.
